Of course, you would need to have the "okay" from Anet! Nice idea, but too much work for not much

We should just be able to submit custom drawings to ANet. They could have a branch that would handle special requests. You dish out extra gold, send in a design, and BAM!

I believe i read something about this on the GW main site, they did not do it because it would be too many custom capes to keep track of and check, or something like that

hopefuly they come out with new cape designs though.. ive seen like 3 diffrent guilds with almost identical capes to mine...

... and then somebody decides to put a swastika on their capes and all hell breaks loose. Bad idea.

aye, but that symbol was around thousands of years (along with many other symbols that various groups have bad-used) befor it was 'borrowed' by hitler.

and, it would just SOOO not get through unless it was heavily disguised.

well, they had a 'submit a guild cape design' compatition ages ago, why not have a monthly guild cape logo/symbol/trim/background comp?

i personaly, would like an infinity symbol for my guild cape (an 8 on its side, similar to a moebius strip, but without the ribon twisting inot itself part)
i have dosens of symbols at hand, most of which can and have already been used by various deitys in RPG games, and some of which have been used here for guild capes.
most of them are simple geometric designes that would work wonderfully.

and some of which players could use to build guild names about, too...

*requests monthly contests, one type per month, cycling from emblem (the design in the center) to background (the shield style bits in the back) through trim (those little bits on the bottoms)
winner of each is converted into a guild wars cape part. one design per player, per comp, has to be for the corect type (so no submiting a cape trim on the cape background month)

you wouldnt have to wory then, 12 new designs per year. 4 of each, making 12 in whole. so 4 whole new cape combinations per year....not that bad, compared to thousands of lame drawings of human anatomy going in the bin per week from peeps that want a 'junior' on thier cape...

How did this contribute to the topic? Way to flex your e-muscle.

The problem with that is that
1] It would eat too much bandwidth.
2] Monitoring them all.

Yes, we could have an approval system, but that takes work that ANet might not want.

well, they want to foster a feeling of comunity spirit in the game and outside it, so a monthly competition would work better than draw a squiggle and get it ok'd by the team, i think....

make us gamers feel like something we did/do and or sugest was getting through to them , and the fact that anyone can draw a simple geometric design and send it in...

i would like that drawn capes, i would probably put something on there depicting the four elements. i even made up my own runes for each element they look awesome
(not cause im an ele, but because the elements are awesome and ive liked them my entire life, with the balance they give, no element is storngest, unless you count light and darkness, those are sort of their own little groop)
